Ever looked at a batch of your forest photos and wondered 'What was I thinking when I shot that?'
Here in New Zealand we are surrounded by dense native bush and forests. You would think that making luscious images in this environment would be a cinch, but it sure ain't! The reality is that most forests are a jumble of distractions and mixed forms that are usually poorly lit. Despite an abundance of beauty, finding a point of interest to photograph can be an infuriatingly difficult task.
Extracting order from forest chaos is seldom easy. Fortunately, skilful post-processing can help tidy up the visual clutter - letting you reveal 'the woods for the trees'.
The trick to making sense of most forest or bush photographs is to isolate and reveal the central point of interest in the scene. The presets bundled in the Woods For The Trees: Lightroom preset pack work in a number of very clever ways to separate interesting subject matter from clutter; warm up that cold forest light; and most importantly, draw the viewer's eye into the scene. I have even included one of my 'light-maker' presets, Summer Rays, that can emulate sunlight in certain scenes.
Don't fear the forest - this pack of 15 professional landscape-optimized lightroom presets will take your forest and bush photographs from drab to fab - often, with just ONE CLICK!
Woods For The Trees preset pack features:
15 Adobe Lightroom presets
Presets work on both RAW and JPEG images
Compatible with Lightroom 4*, Lightroom 5, Lightroom 6 and the Creative Cloud (CC)
For use with both Mac and PC
* Please note not all preset features will work in Lightroom 4 (radial filters).
What kind of images will this work on?
The presets in this pack have been designed to work best with images made in under the forest canopy. The best candidate images will contain large amount of green subject matter and have been shot under bright overcast weather conditions. The Light-maker preset Summer Rays will work best on images that have some bright overcast light in the original file.
